SASSA 2025 Grant Hike: How Much More Will You Receive?

SASSA has announced new grant amounts that will help many South Africans. The changes started in April & more increases will come in November .

– People who are 60 to 74 years old will now get R2310 for their Old Age Grant.

– Those who are 75 and older will receive R2330. Both groups will get R10 more in November .

– The Disability Grant & Care Dependency Grant are going up to R2310. These will also get an extra R10 in November .

– Parents will now get R560 for each child under the Child Support Grant. Double orphans will get R280 more making their total grant R840.

– The Foster Care Grant is increasing to R1250. The SRD Grant which is now R370 might go up to between R420 & R500 in June but this is not final yet.

Massive Salary Adjustments for Teachers in 2025: Full Breakdown

– Teachers will get a 5.5% pay raise in April 2025. Here are the new salary details: New teachers fresh from college will earn R163,178 per year which means about R13,600 each month.

– Teachers who have worked for 2 to 5 years will get between R25,000 and R30,000 monthly. Senior teachers can expect to earn R40000 to R50,000 per month.

School principals at the highest level (note 432) will receive R1,275,789 yearly or R106300 per month.

– The total pay package also includes extra benefits. Teachers get a 13% pension plan R3700 for medical aid and a housing allowance between R1,500 and R1,998.

Grant and Salary Disbursement Timelines: Key Dates and Payment Process

SASSA will give out different payments on specific dates in November . Old age grants will be paid on November 5. People with disabilities will get their money on November 6. Child support grants will be paid on November 7. The SRD payments will happen between November 23 and 30. Everyone who gets money needs to check their bank details on the SASSA website or Moya App. Teachers’ pay slips will be checked in January 2025 to make sure all changes were done right.
