We’ll explain why this change is important and tell you how to get your payment. We’ll also cover the new rules about who can get grants and what steps seniors need to take to get their money. Updated SASSA Payment Schedule for November 2025

SASSA had trouble setting payment dates for the Old Age Grant due to payment problems. They have now fixed this by choosing November 2 2025 as the main payment date. This helps older people plan better for their basic needs like food medicine & bills. As a backup plan SASSA will also pay on Friday November 5 2025 if needed. The new schedule makes things easier for everyone after the five-week wait they had before.

Revised Eligibility Rules and Adjusted Income Thresholds

SASSA has updated the rules for Old Age grants in 2025. Single pensioners can now earn up to R107 800 per year to get the grant which is more than the old limit of R101 640. Married couples can now earn up to R215 760 which is higher than before. The rules about how much stuff you can own have also changed. Single people can own things worth up to R1 524 600 and married couples can own up to R3 049 200. These new rules mean more old people can get help but SASSA needs to be careful about cheating. All pensioners must now prove their income at SASSA offices to keep getting their money. This helps make sure the money goes to the people who really need it.

Simple Steps to Access and Manage Your SASSA Grant

You can get your retirement grant in a few ways. It goes into your bank account or your Postbank SASSA card. You can also get cash at places like Post Offices. Make sure your bank details are up to date on the SASSA website or at their office. This helps avoid payment delays. SASSA asks people not to collect their money on the first day to avoid long lines. If you notice wrong charges like fake funeral policies you can report them. You can tell SASSA directly or send a text to 34548 with your ID & the company name. The charge should not be more than 10% and needs approval first.
